A Tribute to
Lawrence Joseph Laskoski

Lawrence Joseph Laskoski
March 7th, 1955 -January 8th, 2026
Larry Laskowski has been an avid supporter of Rolling Readers Space Coast (“RRSC”) since its inception in 1997. His Mother-In-Law, Mary Eason was one of the organization’s founding mothers. Larry’s wife Mary Pat was the first teacher in Brevard County to have a Rolling Reader in her classroom.
Larry participated in a variety of Rolling Readers community events throughout the past 29 years. Larry was often the physical muscle associated with setting up before and cleaning up after RRSC events. He moved supplies, set up barricades, ran errands and made himself available for whatever tasks were asked of him. He acted as a trouble shooter at RRSC events identifying and solving logistical problems. He quietly provided security at RRSC’s larger events, making sure that program events went smoothly, always without interrupting or bringing attention to himself. His presence in the background was a source of strength and security for all who attended RRSC events.
There were many very endearing times as well. On one occasion, Larry supervised a RRSC book give away. Larry’s character and personality enabled him to easily engage with children and express to them the importance of owning and reading books. He helped them one on one to choose good books. Larry was a strong proponent of early literacy. As a lifelong teacher and High School football coach, he knew that the pathway for a student to have a successful educational career would start with the foundation of building good reading skills. Larry understood that to change future outcomes for individual students and help our community, you needed to encounter students early in their academic careers and help them embrace a love of reading and learning. That was where you could find Larry Laskowski, always striving to guide young minds and athletes to be the best versions of themselves.
We thank all those who donated in memory of Larry. Over $3,000 was donated in his honor to Rolling Readers Space Coast.
